2. Scope

These terms govern the use of the website journal.museikon.ro (“the Website”) and of the content made available through it: the issues of the journal, the volumes in the Museikon Studies series, articles, abstracts and their accompanying illustrations. By using the Website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Website.

3. Open access and licence

Museikon is an open access journal. There are no fees for reading the articles and no publication fees for authors. Users have the right to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose.

Museikon publishes open access articles under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives licence. This licence ensures that authorship is properly and fully attributed to its author and that Museikon is recognised as the original place of publication. Accordingly, when reusing the content you must cite the author, the title of the article, the journal, the volume and the year, you may not use the content for commercial purposes, and you may not distribute modified versions without prior written consent.

4. Illustrations and third-party rights

Every author is responsible for the illustrations provided to the journal, as well as for the originality of the published work. Certain images may be subject to rights held by museums, archives, churches or other third parties; the open access licence above does not override those rights. For any reuse of an illustration beyond quotation for scientific purposes, please contact the editorial office.

5. Submitting articles

Submitting a manuscript implies acceptance of the editorial policy described in the instructions for authors: peer-review procedure, plagiarism policy, privacy statement and copyright rules. The Editors reserve the right to reject the review process of a submitted manuscript if it is suspected of plagiarism or subject to plagiarism.

6. Availability of the Website

We make reasonable efforts to keep the Website and the digital editions available and up to date, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Website at any time, including for maintenance purposes. The Website may contain links to external websites; we are not responsible for their content or for their privacy practices.

7. Personal data

The processing of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). The names and e-mail addresses entered on this journal website are used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and are not made available for any other purpose or to any other party.

8. Applicable law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by Romanian law. We first seek an amicable settlement of any dispute — please write to office@museikon.ro. Consumers may also use the alternative dispute resolution mechanisms of the Romanian National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC — SAL) and the European Online Dispute Resolution platform.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the current version is always published on this page. Please check it periodically.
